Hi Lenila! I just wanted to let u know that we finally received my mothers birthday invitations yesterday...they are stunning :o) its weird, every time i read my own words off of your creative invitations i get emotional. I put so much thought, love, and fear into my writing, my words mean everything to me. African Americans came up with the term "soul food", which of course means cooking from the soul, sometimes i feel like calling my writing "soul writing" because it comes from my soul. I never thought there would be anyone who could present my "soul writing" as beautiful as i would want them to, i felt that i was the only one who would be able to take care of my internal creation, my words that by now i feel as though it were my child...and you were able to do that Lenila, thank you. Thank you for cradling my words that come from so deep within, words that grace my loose leaf paper and are assisted with dried up tear stains. tear stains that play the part of a cloud making some of my words fade, but of course always refusing to disappear. i remember when Givon and i received our wedding invitations that you had done for us back in '07, and it was the first time i had experienced seeing my "soul writing" on such beautiful canvas, i was confused for a minute or so. i remember at that very moment me asking myself "how did she do it, how did lenila know how to cradle my words, my writing"?? i was so jealous of you because my child felt so comfortable in your hands, and up until that point i was the only one that knew how to do that. i figured only a mother knows how to caress their child the right way, only a mother knows how to make pain seem so gifted and triumphant for their child, only a mother knows how to make a happy moment seem like a celebration for their child, and i managed to do all of that by myself for so many years...but its a new day and now i realize that my child no longer has to be raised alone, my "soul writing" has a godmother now, that godmother of course being you lenila, thank you.

Every person has called to say how beautiful they are and how excited they are about the wedding. In this economy so many of our friends and family are having difficult times and your invitation has made them realize how special of an event this is to us and how important it is for them to join in the celebration. I certainly can't recreate that from a store bought invitation.

As a side note, my fiance's mother has refused to return the RSVP card because of the beautiful details. She wants to keep it as a memento!

contacted you please let us know...we want to make your planning as easy and smooth as possible.
